2020 - 17th Old Fisherman's Trail Challenge and we will be running from Fish Hoek Beach to Hout Bay Harbour.
The Old Fisherman's Trail Challenge is a trail run on mostly single paths on the Constantiaberg and Muizenberg mountains between Hout Bay and Fish Hoek. The route varies each year with a distance of +-24km. Each year the start and finish alternate.
With most of the run completed on single path, the race is limited to 250 runners on the mountain at one time.
The route is marked and each runner is given a full route description before race day.
There will be a bus that you are able to book onto when you register that will take you from the finish to the start in the morning.
Difficult to have records as the route and the distance has changes slightly each year. Currently the fast times for the men from Hout Bay to Fish Hoek, the down run is 01:39:42 set by Ryan Sandes in 2011 and the ladies is 01:58:54 set by Michelle Lombardi in 2011. Distance was +-22km
The fastest time for the men from Fish Hoek to Hout Bay, the up run is 01:39:33 set by Michael Bailey in 2012 and the ladies is 01:59:39 set by Michelle Lombardi in 2016. Distance +-22km
