ABOUT

Old Fisherman's Trail Challenge and we will be running from Hout Bay to Fish Hoek Beach.

The Old Fisherman's Trail Challenge is a trail run on mostly single paths on the Constantiaberg and Muizenberg mountains between Hout Bay and Fish Hoek. The route varies each year with a distance of +-25km. Each year the start and finish alternate.

With most of the run completed on single path, the race is limited to 300 runners on the mountain at one time.

    Event Cancellation

We will try to mitigate financial risk for all parties in the case of the event been cancelled.

There are two primary options for you to consider. Enter now to avoid the risk of entry sell-out, and self-manage your withdrawal decision within a sliding scale of monetary return, or enter at a later date, risking entry sell-out or paying late entry fee.

It will always be our primary objective to secure a new date for the event, and avoid total cancellation.

Should the event be cancelled for inclement weather, economic or any other external forces that are out of the Event Management's control, the organiser may decide to:

    • Change the course to a safer alternative course
    • Postpone the event if possible
    • Cancel the event completely.

This decision will only be made in the interest of participants' safety and in accordance with the law.

If the event needs to be completely cancelled, no refunds will be possible after the 11th May 2026.

Please refer to withdrawal details regarding refunds and how refunds will work.

You may decide to withdraw before official cancellation, which will enable a partial refund.

We will look at all options and work with our Stakeholders and within the law to ensure the best plan if things have to change. In every instance, we will seek a win-win situation for all of us, including our suppliers. If the event must be postponed to a new date or next year, then all entries will be carried over.

We are committed to regular communication with all participants in the lead up to the race.
